We can help you

Most of the time your electric bike will need the same repairs and maintenance that any bike will need - a puncture repaired or new brake pads fitting, a replacement tyre or the gears servicing. Many of these jobs and more we can help with for almost all electric bikes.

We also keep a wide range of accessories suitable for electric bikes from tyres and mudguards to locks and lights. We can advise you in store and fit the accessories if needed.

Our two most popular services for all bikes, including those that are electric, are the TLCW General Service or the Degrease Service (details below).

How does it work?

If your bike has a Shimano or Bosch electric system then our workshops are able to connect your bike to the software needed for updates and for the diagnosing of faults. Our mechanics are trained to work on these two systems and our workshops have access to a wide range of spare and replacement parts.

We don’t take bookings for our workshops so you can bring your bike in anytime to talk to one of our mechanics about servicing or repairs, and get a quotation for any work needed including parts.

NOTE: Unfortunately cannot service home-made or illegal electric bicycles, these include any bicycle that has a throttle that powers the bike beyond walking pace.

  • OUR MOST POPULAR SERVICE - It includes the following:

    • Wheels are trued, hubs are checked for play and adjusted if needed.

    • Headset and bottom bracket are checked for play and adjusted if applicable.

    • Gears are tuned and indexed, cabling and parts replaced as needed.

    • Brakes are balanced and tightened, cabling and pads are replaced as needed.

    • Nuts and bolts are checked such as crank, stem and handlebar clamp.

    • Tyres are inflated, drivechain is lubricated and the bike is cleaned and test ridden.

Good for: All bikes at least every six months to keep things running smoothly.

  • A THOROUGH CLEAN! - It includes the following:

    • Drivechain and brakes are removed and thoroughly degreased in a stand-alone dedicated parts washer. This is the best method of cleaning off all of the road dirt and grime, and is excellent at freeing up seized or sticky parts.

    • When clean, parts are lubricated as needed and refitted.

    • The bottom bracket is removed and the frame threads are cleaned and greased.

    • The bike is then serviced as per a General Service and test ridden.

Good for: Bikes used regularly to commute or used for fun in all weather.
